Hobby Lobby Now Open in Valley Ranch Town Center

April 03, 2017

The Signorelli Company joined Hobby Lobby for the grand opening of their new store in Valley Ranch Town Center. Master-planned to include 1.5 million square feet of retail, dining, hospitality, entertainment and civic venues now open or soon to open, Valley Ranch Town Center is situated within the 1,400-acre master-planned community of Valley Ranch, at the epicenter of growth in the northeast Houston corridor, at I69 North and the Grand Parkway, just north of Kingwood. Developed by The Signorelli Company, Valley Ranch Town Center is the largest retail project currently underway in the Houston area.

Hobby Lobby is the nation’s largest privately owned craft and home décor retailer offering more than 70,000 crafting and home décor products including floral, fabric, needle art, custom framing, baskets, home accents, wearable art, arts and crafts, jewelry making, scrapbooking, and paper crafting supplies. The company operates nearly 700 stores across the country, and opened a 55,000-square-foot store today in Valley Ranch Town Center. Store hours are Monday through Saturday from 9 am to 8 pm.

“We feel blessed for the fantastic opportunity to be a part of the New Caney community, stated John Schumacher, Assistant Vice President of Advertising for Hobby Lobby. “Our goal is for customers to experience the exceptional service, selection and value Hobby Lobby offers.”

“The momentum is building in Valley Ranch Town Center,” said Daniel Signorelli, President and CEO of The Signorelli Company. “We’re proud to welcome Hobby Lobby, one of the nation’s most popular retailers, to our growing collection of over 85 quality stores, restaurants and entertainment venues now open or soon to open.”

“Hobby Lobby is a great addition to our retail line up in Valley Ranch and it brings a very family-oriented Christian-based business to our area which provides a shopping experience that our community has not had in the past,” said Frank McCrady, President of the East Montgomery County Improvement District.

“The work that took place to make this happen began many years ago with The Signorelli Company and the East Montgomery County Improvement District worked in partnership along with many other to bring this dream to reality,” said Rick Hatcher, President of the East Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce. “Less than 24 months ago, the site where this store now stands was undeveloped land along US 59, with the anticipation of Grand Parkway opening new transportation routes to the west. Now, businesses that have been in negotiation with The Signorelli Company for several years are coming to fruition and it is all for the greater good of the community and the wonderful people who reside here.”

The 505,000-square-foot first phase of Valley Ranch Town Center is nearly complete, and the infrastructure for the second phase is nearing completion, according to Signorelli. The lineup is led by Burlington, TJ Maxx, Ross, PetSmart and Rack Room Shoes, along with the first anchor in the Entertainment District, Cinemark’s NextGen® all recliner prototype theater with 10 screens. Signorelli says that the second phase should open in late 2017, along with a dozen pad sites and approximately 20,000 square feet of shop space. This phase will add nearly 320,000 square feet to the center.

The Cinemark Theatre will be the first element in the planned Entertainment District within Valley Ranch Town Center. Also planned is a 13,500-seat outdoor amphitheatre for concerts and events, a family-oriented, multi-attraction entertainment venue, and a ‘splash pad’ water feature. Town Grove, a 135-acre park that borders Valley Ranch Town Center, features serene lakes and will be a natural gathering place for special events. New Caney ISD’s 8,500-seat Texan Drive Stadium and new 400-seat Natatorium plus Ed Rinehart Park are other civic elements that bring people together to enjoy all the excitement Valley Ranch Town Center has to offer.
